As part of the Discovery Place modernization, a new graphics and wayfinding program was designed to simplify and consolidate the existing outdated signage. Pylons are placed both inside and outside the museum and serve as advertising, marketing, and wayfinding elements. Directional arrows and directory maps guide visitors through the museum while marketing materials advertise various programs and exhibits. In addition to the free standing pylons, wall-mounted blade signs direct visitors to restrooms, first aid, and staff offices. All the signs are designed to be changeable and feature pressure-laminated MDF panels to allow in-house printing and mounting.
